The Tustin City Council and Parks and Recreation Department are excited to host a “Virtual” Tustin Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off, June 7, 2020 at 1:00pm live on our website at tustinchilicookoff.com.
With the theme of “Tustin Strong”, this live stream event will include various components of the Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off, but with a twist. To continue the 36-year tradition of chili cook-offs in Tustin, local restaurants have been invited to cook up their best chili recipes for the public to enjoy – and to vote for their favorite. Tustin restaurants competing include:
• Black Marlin
• American Grub
• Friends Café
• Rutabegorz
• El Camino Café
• Spires
• Roba Noodle
• Thai Chaiyo
Starting Tuesday, June 2, these participating restaurants will have their chili available for pick-up or delivery, along with related food and drink specials. The public is encouraged to support these Tustin establishments and then vote for their favorite chili on Instagram @TustinChiliCookOff on Sunday, June 7th. The winner will be announced live at the end of the event.
Additional Tustin restaurants wishing to participate in the chili cook-off should contact TPRD@tustinca.org or call (714) 573-3326.
In addition to the chili cook-off, the livestream event will include music from Stone Soul, a beer stein holding contest, jalapeno eating contest, hula hoop contest, inspirational messages from sponsors and local Tustin non-profits, and much more. The public is encouraged to gather with their households on June 7 at 1:00 pm and tune in to the free livestream at tustinchilicookoff.com.
