Captain Arzate

Captain Manny Arzate began his career with the Tustin Police Department in September of 2002.

Career

He graduated from the Palomar College Police Academy upon receiving an honorable discharged from the United States Marine Corps. Captain Arzate has worked a variety of different assignments throughout his career.

Gang Unit

After working as a Patrol Officer for a few years, Captain Arzate was selected for a detective assignment in the Gang Unit. In this assignment, Captain Arzate investigated a number of high profile cases and was recognized as member of the Orange County Gang Investigators’ Association, “Team of the Year.”

Specialty Positions

After his assignment in the Gang Unit, Captain Arzate worked a number of other specialty positions within the Department, which include an assignment as a Field Training Officer, Personnel and Training Officer and obtained Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) certification. In 2014, Captain Arzate promoted to the rank of sergeant and ultimately supervised the Special Enforcement Detail.

North Area Commander

In 2017, Captain Arzate promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned as the North Area Commander. In this position, Captain Arzate was responsible for managing all policing activities in Tustin north of the I-5 freeway. He also managed the:

  • Arrest and Control Program
  • Field Training Program
  • Traffic Unit
  • Tustin Police Department Honor Guard

Education

During his tenure at the Tustin Police Department, Captain Arzate focused on personal development and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands.
