Temporary Construction Fire Hydrant Meters

Temporary construction fire hydrant meters are issued when a completed application is submitted with the following requirements:

  • Check made payable to “City of Tustin” for $710
  • City of Tustin business license number if work is to be performed within City Limits
  • Completed Fire Hydrant Meter Application
  • Job location (where the meter will be installed)

Meter Rental Fees

Meter rental fee is $3 per day regardless of use, including Saturday and Sunday. 

Deposits will be refunded upon return of undamaged meter and eddy valve, after payment has been deducted for water used, and meter rental. All or part of the deposit may be forfeited for failure to pay any bill, or for failure to return meter, or damage to any meter or eddy valve issued to the permittee. 

Billings and refunds are processed 3 to 4 weeks from date meter is returned.

Fees Paid in Advance

Fees paid in advance are as follows:

  • Non-refundable Application Fee: $10
  • Refundable Deposit for Hydrant Meter: $700
  • Total Due at Time of Meter Issuance: $710

Other Fees

Other fees to be paid are as follows:

  • 0 to 40 HCF: $3.35 per HCF
  • 41 to 60 HCF: $3.88 per HCF
  • Over 60 HCF: $4.46 per HCF
  • Capital Charge: $1 daily
  • Unable to Read Meter: $20 daily
  • Water Use Charge: $3 daily

Beginning Monday, June 25, 2018, application, payment and meter shall be issued at:

Tustin, CA 92780
