When considering what to do with old furniture, appliances, or other household items that are still usable, consider donation. This can not only be very helpful to others, but it also benefits the community as a whole by helping to minimize materials headed to the landfill.
Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
There is an environmental savings when people practice that familiar saying: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Clothing
For clothing, collectibles or small household items, donate to a local rummage sale fundraiser that may be sponsored by a school or church. Or look for periodic neighborhood pick-ups which are noticed in advance by several regional charitable organizations through postcards or residential bag drop-offs.
You may also deliver your still usable items directly to a non-profit organization such as Goodwill Industries. There is a location in Tustin at 502 E First Street in Larwin Square.
