North Area Patrol Division

North Area Commander

Lieutenant Birozy serves as the North Area Commander, accountable for policing matters north of the I-5 freeway.

Responsibilities

North Area Command is responsible for all reactive and proactive police problem solving in the north end of the city, including responding to citizen calls for service 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year.

Mission

The mission of the division is to work in partnership with the other city departments, the residential and business communities, and other governmental and non-profit agencies to reduce crime, provide a sense of safety and security and to improve the quality of life for those who visit, live, and work in the City of Tustin.

Community Relations Unit

The area commanders also work closely with our Community Relations Unit in hosting Substations for a Day and Town Hall meetings. When an impacted area is targeted for improvement, an operational plan is developed which includes a day where members of the Department and other city departments work out of a mobile command post in that area.

After spending the morning in the neighborhood interacting with the residents, a Town Hall meeting follows where residents are provided with crime statistics, crime prevention tips, and a question and answer session following the presentation.
