About

South Orange County Community College District's (SOCCCD's) Advanced Technology and Education Park (ATEP) opened in 2007 and is currently housed in a temporary facility at the corner of Red Hill Avenue and Valencia Avenue. The goal of ATEP is to develop a vibrant education/private enterprise park with a focus on advanced technology and workforce development and to attract a variety of educational and commercial uses including:

  • Corporate headquarters
  • General office
  • High-tech manufacturing
  • Higher education institutions
  • Medical-oriented facilities
  • Other uses complementary to ATEP's mission
  • Research and development companies

Future Plans

The entire ATEP campus, when complete, will sit on approximately 65 acres. The first permanent ATEP building is being constructed by Irvine Valley College and will is located at the corner of Lansdowne Road and Valencia Avenue. This 32,492 square foot building is scheduled for completion in December 2017 and will focus on career technical education by including classrooms, specialized teaching labs, a certified testing center, economic and workforce development offices and a student resource center.

Future plans call for a Center for Innovation in Healthcare Education to be constructed by Saddleback College. This approximately 30,000 square foot building would offer training in:

  • Advanced diagnostics
  • Experiential practice
  • Inter-professional collaboration
  • Patient simulations
  • Robotics
