Citizens Academy
The Citizens Police Academy is provided for citizens who want to be more involved in their community and gain a better understanding between citizens and police through education. The academy also provides our officers and staff with an opportunity to get to know our residents so we can remain responsive to the needs and attitudes of the community.

Chief's Advisory Board
The mission of the Chief's Advisory Board is to act as a resource for the Police Chief in the formation of strategies, development of policing concepts and increasing public awareness regarding policy issues.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are community members who are recruited from the Citizens' Police Academy and trained in various police-related duties. Volunteers function as an auxiliary unit of the Tustin Police Department, but are not armed and have no powers of arrest beyond those of any citizen.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Tustin Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Course is an 8 week long 24-hour Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved program that provides you with the basic skills to respond to your family, neighborhood and community’s needs in the aftermath of a disaster, when emergency services may not be immediately available.
