Tustin Area Senior Center to Open as a Cooling Center Monday, August 28

Beginning Monday, August 28, 2023, and lasting through Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and longer should temperatures sustain 95 degrees or higher, the Tustin Area Senior Center will be open from 10 am – 5 pm, as a respite area from the heat.


The public, especially seniors, is invited to relax at the center to cool down and water will be made available. No special activities are planned, but those seeking respite from the heat are welcome to sit in the lounge and enjoy a book or magazine, socialize, or watch television. The Tustin Area Senior Center is located at 200 S. C Street in Tustin and the phone number is (714) 573-3340. 

 

The Senior Citizen Heat Advisory program, administered by the City of Tustin’s Parks and Recreation Services Department, is employed when the second consecutive day of temperatures attains 95 degrees or a Heat Index of 95 degrees is reached or forecasted. Immediately upon the declaration of this advisory, the program will open.
