Council Member Lumbard, elected to City Council in 2018, was born and raised in Orange County and is a long time Tustin resident. His priorities while on City Council include:
Promoting Tustin's unique character
Council Member Lumbard has served the community in a variety of roles. He currently represents Tustin on the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency, and is an alternate representative to the Water Advisory Committee of Orange County and the Newport Bay Watershed Executive Committee. Council Member Lumbard is in his second term an appointee to the Orange County Transportation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee.
When not at City Hall, Council Member Lumbard works as an attorney and contract specialist for a global engineering and construction company.
Prior to being elected to City Council, Council Member Lumbard served for six years on Tustin’s Planning Commission, twice as Commission Chair. He also previously served for many years as a reserve deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. This experience helped shape his passion for keeping all Tustin residents safe.
Council Member Lumbard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, a law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and is a graduate of the Orange County Bar Association College of Trial Advocacy.
Council Member Austin Lumbard and his wife are the proud parents of four young children. The family’s mascot is their eleven year old boxer, Moose.
